Our Educational Programs The Institute for Sexual Awareness was founded by Dr. Stuart A. Bloch in 1979 on the belief that people are entitled to pleasure and satisfaction in their lives. Using communication about sexuality (the most difficult issue to talk about) has allowed people to communicate about everything else in their lives, and honor their sexuality. For many, this is the first opportunity to honor themselves. WHY SEX !!! We find conversations easy but the difficult ones we never talk about and we hide from the reality of what it is we think, say, and dream we want. Only by handling the difficult subject matters first do all others fall by the wayside. Concentrating on issues in relationships and sexuality, the Institute has worked successfully with thousands and thousands of people in our workshops, lectures, seminars and in private, directed short term sessions. Our aim is to, as quickly as possible, handle those situations that occasionally trouble couples and/or individuals. Working on the premise that you have the answers and can’t uncover them for yourself, we have the questions that will bring forth your answers. The majority of our work is firmly rooted with the issues found in the general community. We make no judgment regarding lifestyles and have worked successfully with cross dressers, pre-orgasmic women, premature ejaculators, advanced–age virgins, swingers, gays, as well as dominant and submissive couples. He founded the Institute to educate people to have more pleasure and satisfaction in relationships. Dr. Bloch’s key premise is based on the idea that although we live in a society that is intellectually free, we are unable to think for ourselves when it comes to sex and sexuality as different media feed us negative messages that inhibit and diminish our roles as sexual beings.
